Membership
To become a member of Makerere University convocation, you have to qualify in one of the membership categories listed below, Tab through and find one that fits and hit the register button.
Please note that all registrations will go through a series of verifications to get approval.
Membership Categories
This consists of all graduates and Members of staff of Makerere University Kampala. Makerere University Council may authorize other persons to be full members of Makerere University Convocation
Rights
- Participate in all activities of the Convocation
- Have access to literature available at Convocation offices
- Stand for election in any position of the Convocation
- Participate in voting during elections
- Participate in any other functions as may be prescribed by the General Assembly
Obligations
- To pay membership fees and annual subscriptions regularly
- To attend meetings of the Convocation
- To take active part in activities organized by the Convocation
- To be available to take on duties as and when called upon
- To be available to participate in any other obligation as may be prescribed by the General Assembly.
This category consists of;
- Current and former members of the university council
- Current and former members of the appointments board
- Current and former Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Academic, Secretaries, University Secretaries, Deans of students and Librarians
- Recipients of Makerere University honorary degrees
- The Vice Chancellors, Principal and Staff of constituent and affiliated institutions
- Outside scholars on teaching and/or research at Makerere University

- Current and former members of the university council
- Current and former members of the appointments board
- Current and former Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Academic Secretaries, University Secretaries, Deans of students and Librarians
- Recipients of Makerere University honorary degrees
- The Vice Chancellors, Principal and Staff of constituent and affiliated institutions
- Outside scholars on teaching and/or research at Makerere University

Institutions and organizations that subscribe to and support the aims and objectives of the Convocation and any other person who the Executive and the general Assembly may deem fit to be a member under this category.
